This was a fun project. Originally I was requested to do something with this image. My client really didn’t need it, she has enough pretty color head shots, but when she said, do anything you want, I trust you or drop this image, that’s when a light bulb turned on, appropriate since my last name is Watt…Holla…anyway I digress. So I really wanted this image to pop. Then BAM, it hit me. This should be B&W and needs to feel exotic, retro, sexy, and mysterious. So with some fine tune retouching, color conversion, cool crop and imagination, I feel this has the IT factor. It’s like Ralph Lauren meets James Bond. I’m happy and my client was too thrilled!

Natural retouching is normally essential when retouching males, whether commercial, beauty or fashion. My client needed their client retouched naturally for their promotional/press images. I added a little pop to the image, while keeping it natural, real and approachable.

This was a challenging, but fun assignment. I was giving images to pick from to retouch and create a beauty story. So, finding two strong images that complement each other is first and foremost. That’s what creates the story making process. Then to take already gorgeous pictures and retouch them to make them even more gorgeous, well, dang, that’s just not fair, but it makes me think outside the box, plus that’s when cropping helps bring out some creativity. The wig and red lips has been done time and time again, so I thought creating in season trendy colors would be more beneficial and cropping the images so it’s more about the lips/nails than the wig would be ideal. It’s done, gorgeous. I’m happy and even better, my client is happy!

RA is not always short for Retouch Artist or Raichle, it sometimes means Rescue Artist.
My client had a fun, yet challenging project. Make this image pop! I cropped the heck out of this image, took away half of the model’s body and a few accessories (stuff that wasn’t needed and only taking away from the image and purpose), color corrected the heck-a-roonie out of it, gave it some extra retouch lov’n and Ta Da…this image POPS…just what the client ordered. The model’s face is beautiful, the accessories stand out and it feels simple yet sophisticated.

When I received this image, I thought it was darn gorgeous, but something about it was not hitting right, plus the way it was already cropped left me limited in my crop. So I felt cropping it in tight and off to the side really brought out her gorgeous features and also gave it mystery, which in turn created an even more beautiful image. Not all faces can be cropped tight or off centered, it needs to be the right face. Some natural retouching with a hint of polish, color correcting and it’s ready!

This was a simple, yet fun project. The location for this particular shot was not ideal, so by simply adding a more city type background, cropping in tighter, natural retouching and slightly desaturated look made for a perfect feel for this page.

This was a fun project. The photographer wanted me to clean the image up and just make it pop. Well, I think it is popping now! Small changes/tweaks, natural retouching, hint of color correcting, move the moon and this baby is hot hot hot. This is a money making image for all talent involved!

Flawless retouching in a natural way is my expertise. This model is just dang beautiful and the photographer knows his thang! The smallest of changes can make the largest of difference. It’s all about your the eye for beauty. Anyone can make an image perfect, but perfection doesn’t mean the image is more aesthetically pleasing or more marketable…it just means it’s perfect. I really enjoy working on images that have huge potential, it’s so satisfying.
